3Ddesign

At PremierPlastics we treat our customers projects as if they were our own.Many of our projects are developed from the design stage using thelatest Cad design software with 3D Modeling and surface modellinginterfaces. As we are very experienced in Injection moulding, wecan advise on the best method of manufacture for your products. Wehave developed products including electrical housings, securitysystems, household products and Iris cameras. The design route weusually advise for assemblies and aesthetic components is asfollows :-

Consultation onthe requirements of the products.

Initial prototypedesigns using two dimensional engineering drawings and threedimensional solid views for discussion.

Furtherdevelopment of the concept drawings to full dimensioned andtoleranced component drawings.

Supply of printedabs prototypes or other prototypes depending on the mechanicalrequirements.

Prototypes willbe used to evaluate components in there finished form, before anytooling work is commenced. As we work on a three dimensionalplatform the information can be converted to an STL form, and sentto our in house Rapid Prototyping machines.

Final evaluationof the design and commencement of hard tooling manufacture. Thedrawing information can be converted to IGS, DXF, DWG, DWF, SAT,STL, EPS, 3DS, & BMP. Our Toolmakers uses the information fordirect feed to CADCAM machinery saving on programming and Toolingcosts.

Tooling

Wecan produce both low volume and high volume multi cavity hot runnertooling to suit your projects requirements.

Aswe design our products on a 3d platform we build in draft angles,wall thickness ratios, feed and ejection points to suit themoulding process. Our Cad files are sent direct to CAM software andthen to 5 axis milling machines, cnc spark eroders or wire erosionmachines.

Tooling quality is the key toquality mouldings, but we also realise that tooling cost must bereasonable in order to make a project viable. We find ourselves tobe very competitive on tooling prices as our overheads are kept toa minimum and our experience in getting it right first time,enables concept to marketplace times to be realistic.

We will advise on the most cost efficient amount of cavities foryour tooling and advise on the suitability of putting differentcomponents on the same tooling. This is a very important factor, asit determines the long term cost of the product and the quantitythat can be produced in a given period.
